One of my previous block knife sets included a knife like this, and I found it one of the best ways to slice up peppers and such for my son, who loves peppers for snacks. The hooked tip made it so easy to maneuver the knife around everything, and being thin, was easier to change cutting direction while cutting.
Of course, I gave that block knife set to my mother when I replaced mine with a different set, and lost the peeling knife.
So I finally decided to dig around and find one, not realizing that most of them are more pricey than I had anticipated. So I searched through them all, and settled on this one. I wanted something with a slightly larger, wider handle, and so many of them, while having nice one piece bodies and such, were too narrow for my tastes. Since I do a lot of directional changes when using one of these, I wanted something "fatter" in the handle that fit the palm better while in use, and this one does that just perfectly. Nice and sharp, and a good heft to it, balanced well in the palm with that slightly larger handle. And the handle is longer than my other one, which feels like it should work out good once I get more used to it.
Only downside is that I have no good place to put it to protect the blade (or me from being cut when reaching into the drawer). For the time being, I pulled the scissors out of the knife block, and am using that spot until I come up with a better solution.
Quickly shipped, and well secured inside the box it ships in with a tie down plastic zip tie that held it in place. Good deal for the price.
